From the HT: The former city firefighter linked to two women charged in connection to a stabbing death Monday is again in jail. Roger Edwards was booked into the Monroe County Jail Friday afternoon. He faces preliminary charges of possession of cocaine, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession or use of a legend drug, possession of marijuana and paraphernalia and maintaining a common nuisance. Edwards’ attorney, Carl Salzmann, said Thursday that his client turned himself in. Police describe Edwards as the boyfriend of Jodi Reeves, who was charged with murder and obstruction of justice in connection with the death of Gene Davis. Edwards was initially charged with theft in connection with a syringe of Novocain police said he admitted he stole after taking Reeves for medical attention for her hand after Davis’ death. He got out on bond for that arrest on Wednesday. These additional charges stem from a police search of Edwards’ home Monday. According to Detective Sgt. Jeff Canada, police found marijuana, metal and ceramic smoking devices, three Adderall capsules and small amounts of Hydrocodone, Xanax and Naproxen. They also found a glass vial with cocaine residue and a test tube containing Rompum, a sedative used on horses. Canada said officers found that Edwards did not have a prescription for any of the pills found in the home. Edwards and his attorney attended an initial hearing in Judge Teresa Harper’s court Friday. Salzmann said not guilty pleas were entered on all charges. Edwards is being held on a $50,000 bond.
