From the HT:
After a chance encounter on the street, Bloomington police arrested a man Thursday who was under investigation for dealing cocaine.
Samuel X. Fancher is preliminarily charged with Class B felony cocaine dealing. According to Detective Sgt. Jeff Canada, Fancher was being investigated by Detective Bill Jeffers. Canada said that during the investigation, crack was sold to a confidential informant on the north side of town.
On Thursday, Canada said, Jeffers happened to see Fancher in a car in the vicinity of College Avenue and Seventh Street. Jeffers called for a marked police car to follow Fancher. He was pulled over on Ind. 37, said Canada.
Fancher and another man were arrested March 4 on drug related charges. The arrest made Tuesday involved a different investigation and a different set of circumstances, said Detective Sgt. David Drake.
The previous investigation, carried out by detectives Jarred Burns and Cody Forston, culminated in Fancher’s arrest and that of Coy L. Daniels. It resulted in the discovery of crack cocaine and Lortab. At the time of that arrest, Daniels was found on a bed with a handgun next to him.
Fancher is being held at the Monroe County jail. Bond is set at $40,000.
